In the end, what matters most in life is whether or not we are a friend of Jesus. But what does this mean? And what does it entail?
Our relationships depend on our behavior, and our behavior depends on what we believe to be true–rightly or wrongly, for good or for ill–and whether or not that truth (or lack thereof) has taken up its home in our hearts, shaping our desires, our motives, and what we love.
There is nothing more important, therefore, if we want to be a friend of Jesus, than to make every effort to form both our minds and our hearts according to the mind and heart of Christ. And that is what adult faith formation is all about. So check out what’s being offered this semester, and get involved!

Letter to the Ephesians (8 sessions): Paul’s letter to the Ephesians reveals many remarkable gifts that we as Christians are given in the Church. This letter tells us about the nature of the Church—as a body, as a household, as a mystery, as a communion, as a bride, and as an army. It shows us the great inheritance that awaits us as sons and daughters, adopted fully into the family of God. It reveals how God’s great love for us can transform our daily lives—if we allow it. Ephesians will enrich your faith—and show you how to live it out.
- Mondays, 7:00-9:00 pm, starts Sept. 18, 2017, in the Conference Center
- Tuesdays, 9:15-11:30 am, starts Sept. 19, 2017, in the Conference Center. (This meeting time is for women only.)
The Book of Wisdom (8 sessions): Scripture and the Tradition of the Catholic Church provide an abundance of wisdom, though it can often be challenging to apply it to our lives. In this study, Jeff Cavins and Thomas Smith examine biblical wisdom as it relates to daily life. Drawing on the wisdom literature of the Bible—Proverbs, Wisdom, Sirach, and Ecclesiastes—Wisdom will teach you how to actively seek out sound guidance and increase your sense of peace in navigating life. In everything from friendships to finances, from making decisions to attaining peace of mind, Scripture offers a vision for happiness and well-being. With this program, you will learn how to gather, gain, and grow in wisdom, and you will experience the joy it brings to your life.
- Mondays, 7:00-9:00 pm, starts Sept. 18, 2017, in Room 1 of the school
That Man Is You! (13 sessions): That Man is You! is an interactive, multimedia men’s program focused upon the development of authentic male leadership. Over the course of three years, That Man is You! successively considers men in their relationship to God, to their spouse, and to their children. The program content harmonizes current social and medical science with the teachings of the Church and the wisdom of the saints to develop the vision of man fully alive. It is particularly indebted to the teachings of the Second Vatican Council and Pope John Paul II.
- Tuesdays, 7:00-8:30 pm, starts Sept. 19, 2017, in the Conference Center
- Thursdays, 5:30-7:00 am, starts Sept. 21, 2017, in the Conference Center
Men’s Prayer and Study Group (on-going): Join other men of the parish bright and early for fresh coffee, prayer, study & discussion, and accountability!
- Tuesdays, 6:00-7:00 am, meets all year round, in the Conference Center
33 Days to Morning Glory (6 sessions): Celebrate the 100th anniversary of Fatima by consecrating yourself to Mary! Why? The saints tell us that this is the quickest, surest, and easiest way to happiness and holiness. In our hectic day and time, Saint John Paul II and Saint Mother Teresa, among others, showed us that the quickest way to be transformed into a saint is through a relationship with Our Blessed Mother, Mary. Why? Because her role in the Church is to bring us into a deeper relationship with Jesus.
- Tuesdays, 12:00-1:30 pm, starts October 24, 2017, in the Conference Center
- Wednesdays, 7:00-8:30 pm, starts October 25, 2017, in the Conference Center
Family Enrichment (monthly): Families often struggle to overcome the obstacles in their foundational relationships: husbands and wives, parents and children, siblings, immediate family, and even extended family, alike, encounter seemingly insurmountable challenges. The Texas Family Enrichment program is designed precisely to equip families with the knowledge and skills both to solve these problems–and, more importantly, to prevent them before they happen.
- Fall and Spring, course held off-site. Registration Deadline: September 20, 2017.
Teams of Our Lady (monthly): Teams of Our Lady (TOOL) is an on-going formation program for all married couples–whether you’ve been married 1 year, 10 years, or 50 years–to form you as a couple in married spirituality. Why as a couple? Because God has entrusted you to each other through the Sacrament of Matrimony, and because when your response is made in unison, it deeply affects: the quality of your love, your children, and all whom you meet. Why with other couples? Because as a Team there is more strength. In a world where fidelity is no longer esteemed, meeting with others who value married life can bring joy and hope to all.
- Periodic Information Sessions are offered for those who are interested in joining a Team.
Prayer Workshop (one day): Join us for six hours of teaching and discussion on the nature of prayer, how to pray, different kinds of prayer, and how to grow in prayer. Anyone is welcome, and there is no cost! No registration required.

God has given to the Church many, many resources to help us be formed in our faith and become more like His Son, Our Lord, Jesus. Many of these resources come to us through the hands of the Church–the sacred liturgy, the seven sacraments, traditions of prayer, the writings of saints and doctors of the Church, the ministry of priests and religious, the apostolate of the laity, and so on. But there are other resources, especially now in the age of the internet, that we can take advantage of and use in our own homes. Some of these resources we would like to share with you on this page.
This blog gives a place to share articles and videos of interest to adult faith formation.
