A Letter from Fr. Vincent

Dear Sisters & Brothers in Christ,

Welcome to the website of St. Clare of Assisi, a Roman Catholic Church in Houston, Texas.

We give witness of our faith in Jesus Christ through joyful worship, the formation of young people and adults, and service to our south Harris County community. St. Clare of Assisi’s mission is to:

I hope this site will help you get to know us better and, in so doing, discover something new about the Good News Jesus shares with the world.

St. Clare of Assisi has an exceptional Pre-K through Grade 8 School, where we educate the mind, heart, and spirit of our young people through the personal relationships of parent, child, and educator. The curriculum is tied intimately with the Church, and we communicate the full, authentic Catholic faith.

St. Clare has a comprehensive catechetical faith formation programming for every step of your spiritual journey from elementary to junior high to high school to adult as well as a robust RCIA program.

Our Elementary Faith Formation is based on the model of Catechesis of the Good Shepherd.  The Montessori method is utilized to joyfully introduce the child to Jesus and the teaching of the Church. Junior High Faith Formation uses elements from both Loyola Press' Finding God, YOUCAT for Kids and Catechesis of the Good Shepherd for the curriculum, essentially building on the pre-K-5th religious curriculum used in the St. Clare's elementary faith formation program. This is designed to meet the educational, spiritual, emotional, and social needs of young adolescents. Our High School Faith Formation's goal is to lead teens closer to Christ and build an environment where teens feel loved, accepted, and compelled to reach deeper into their faith through various opportunities and programming rooted in the sacraments and the Catechism of the Catholic Church. These high school programs have the power to transform teens, transform parishes, and transform culture. Teens are always welcomed and encouraged to bring their friends to any of the junior high or high school ministries.

Our parish groups and ministries offer a way for you and your family to connect to the parish, to serve others, and to grow in Spirit.
