There are many roles and ways to serve and help out from acting, reading, setup, and more. Please note that the acting roles do not have lines for the most part due to the play having a vocal narration. This should help teens feel more comfortable in stepping up. There's also opportunity for those unable to make the practices to help with behind the scenes work and hospitality on the day of. If interested, please contact me. I will be offering service hours for those who help.
Below is the tentative list of all the roles. Please note some of the roles have already been cast.
Please note that typically we cast by age; older youth have the opportunity for the larger roles and as one gets older, they get to graduate to the larger roles as we do put this on annually. There is not an actual limit to the number of weeping women and disciples but I do need a minimum number of people to fill those roles. I do however need strong guys for the roles of Jesus, Simon and the guards as those roles involve lifting and raising the Cross (which takes practice and strength). That is why the head guard is typically an adult male.
